Centre for Development of Advanced Computing Fusion of C-DAC Experts and Academia Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is an autonomous society under the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MC & IT), Government of India. Since its inception in the year 1988, C-DAC has pioneered the development of High Performance Computing (HPC) in the country covering RISC processors, interconnection networks, network connectivity and programming environment for scientific engineering. C-DAC has to its credit ‘PARAM’ series of Supercomputers that are flexible and scalable. C-DAC is engaged in Research and Development in the following areas:

Professional Electronics including VLSI & Embedded Systems

Advanced Computing Training School:
As a part of the mandate given to C-DAC to generate quality manpower to address the growing demand for trained manpower in the extremely fast moving sector of Information Technology, C-DAC established its Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS). ACTS imparts quality training in high-end technologies to existing and prospective users. It offers a range of basic to advanced courses, spanning a wide spectrum in the filed of Information Technology.

These are six-months full-time programmes for graduates wherein the trainee is moulded into Industry ready professional.
Students for the above mentioned courses are selected through national level Common Entrance Test, conducted by ACTS, 4 times in a year.
ACTS also conducts undergraduate courses and customized training programmes for corporates such as Indian Army, Indian Air force, India Navy, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), College of Military Engineering (CME), Wipro Technolgies and others.

Tech Prakalpa Award:
A national level symposium for the final year students of the engineering / MCA/ MCS streams of those institutions that are part of Tech Sangam. By this, C-DAC wishes to provide a platform to those budding graduates wherein they can present their IT related projects. The best project will be awarded the Tech Prakalpa Award, the details are as follows:
First Prize: Rs.1,00,000
(Rs.60,000/- to the project team, Rs.40,000/- to the guide and shield to the institution)
Second Prize: Rs.75, 000/-
(Rs.50,000/- to the project team, Rs.25,000/- to the guide and shield to the institution)
Third Prize: Rs.50,000/-
(Rs.30,000/- to the project team, Rs.20,000/- to the guide and shield to the institution)
